Own the Dial — Control the Process

Consumer Health Data Notice

This notice describes Own the Dial’s collection and use of consumer health data, including information protected by U.S. state consumer-health laws.

Effective September 7, 2026

Health data we may collect

Only information you choose to enter or generate: nutrition and food records, body weight and trends, fasting records, medication names and schedules, gastrointestinal notes, exercise and workout records, goals, preferences, label images submitted for scanning and reports derived from those entries.

Why we collect and use it

To provide requested logging, calculations, synchronization, progress views and reports; maintain and secure your account; troubleshoot the private test; answer support or rights requests; and comply with law. We will request additional consent before using consumer health data for another purpose when required.

Sources

Health data comes directly from you and from calculations the service performs on your entries. Own the Dial does not currently import Apple Health, Google Health Connect or medical-provider records.

Who may receive it

Service providers supporting database hosting, authentication, synchronization, security and nutrition-label extraction may process only the information necessary for those functions under applicable agreements. We do not sell consumer health data. We do not share it with dietitians, trainers or advertisers. You independently decide whether to download or send an exported report.

Your choices and rights

You may request access, a copy, correction or deletion of consumer health data and may withdraw consent. You may also appeal a denied request. Email joshs@ownthedial.com with the subject “Consumer Health Data Request.” We will verify requests without asking you to send health records by ordinary email.

Consent

Creating an account is separate from agreeing to health-data synchronization. We ask for an affirmative choice before pre-existing local records are uploaded. Where explicit consent is required, you may decline and continue using available device-only features, or withdraw consent later.
